Catchcal now provides .in Domain Registrations in association with
National Centre for Software Technology for all Indian
organizations and individuals. Domain registration charges are Rs.
3,000/- for a period of 2 years.

Added to the domain specific requirements there are certain general requirements that you will need to fulfill. These are:

The Domain Name CANNOT be a generic name such as tea.co.in or wood.co.in etc. Instead you would need to register duncanstea.co.in or woodtechnologies.co.in.

The Administrative contact of the domain must be from the
organization/institution requesting the domain name.

For domains under all categories, except gen.in and ind.in, the organization/institution applying for the domain name must have their office in India.
