Helpful Hints

Do not use FTP programs to upload FrontPage files !!

Many problems are encountered when an FTP program, such as CuteFTP or WS_FTP is used to upload files created by FrontPage. This publishing method does not work; FrontPage's dynamic components require that you use FrontPage to publish your files.

It is best not to use FTP to access your site if you are using Microsoft FrontPage. You may inadvertently change or delete FrontPage configuration files, which could corrupt your FrontPage extensions.

If FrontPage indicates that your website does not exist, or that extensions are not installed, visit your control panel to make sure that your FrontPage extensions have been initialized. Also, make sure that you are connected to the Internet, and that you are publishing to http://www.yourname.com/. The http:// is required.

If you experience problems when following these instructions, please provide the following information to our support department: FrontPage version, which method (above) you are using, exact error message(s).
